Regularly perform patrols to deter and identify suspicious activities.

• Monitor access points, controlling entrances and exits for vehicles and pedestrians.

• Investigate potential security breaches and report incidents to management promptly.

• Maintain visibility and professionalism to act as a deterrent to crime.

• Perform access control, including searching staff and suppliers as needed.

• Complete registers and occurrence logs accurately.

• Ensure compliance with safety and security measures, including thorough checks of premises.

• Act as the first contact for emergency services, providing assistance during crises.

• Report and document daily activities and unusual occurrences in detail.

• Enforce rules to mitigate the risk of theft and damage to property.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate.

• Grade C accreditation with the PSIRA.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the retail security sector (shopping malls, warehouses).

Advantageous:

• At least 1 year of specific experience in a similar security role.

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of PSIRA regulations.

• Familiarity with fire emergencies and relevant Health and Safety training.

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Advantageous:

• Proficiency in a third language.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Must be PSIRA registered and hold Grade C PSIRA accreditation.
