Job Description:

The Universal Banker (Level 1) plays a crucial role in our banking institution, engaging with Personal, Prestige, and Private Banking clients. This position is designed for a versatile and experienced sales professional proficient in delivering expert banking services while actively driving sales growth.


The Universal Banker will manage various transactions and cultivate long-term relationships by offering customized solutions that adapt to clients’ changing financial needs.


As a vital contributor to client retention and sales generation, this role entails:

  • Providing exceptional customer service

  • Utilizing sales expertise to identify and act upon sales opportunities

  • Effectively cross-selling and upselling banking products to meet client financial needs


Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Matric

  • National Certificate in Banking (NQF5 FAIS-recognized qualification or above): This qualification provides a robust knowledge base in banking practices, financial services, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and competency in advisory and intermediary services.


Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on FAIS qualifications and financial advisory roles.

  • Proven and impressive sales track record, consistently achieving or surpassing sales targets through effective cross-selling and upselling of banking products (e.g., loans, credit cards, mortgages, savings, and investment solutions).


  • Demonstrated success in generating new business, building a strong sales pipeline, and driving revenue growth within a branch or contact center environment.

  • Comprehensive understanding of banking operations, including account management, transaction processing, and customer relationship management.

  • Strong grasp of relevant banking products, policies, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring high client satisfaction.
