Job Description
Job Title: POST: Social Worker (Warrant Officer)
Location: Social Work Services: All Provinces
Level of Remuneration: R351, 570 per annum (Band B1)
Generic Requirements:
Competency in post-specific functions
Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
Proficiency in at least two official languages, with English being one of them
South African citizenship
No criminal record or pending departmental cases
Computer Literacy
Interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Analytical, self-management, and problem-solving skills
Report writing, presentation, and development skills
Valid light driver’s license
Willingness to travel extensively
Additional Requirements:
Applicable 3-year degree in Social Work (SAQA accredited on NQF Level 7 or higher)
Registered as a Social Worker with the SA Council for Social Service Professions and valid registration for 2024/2025
Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
Experience in facilitation/presentation, supervision/management would be an advantage
Core Functions:
Facilitate and coordinate proactive programs for personnel
Provide reactive therapeutic social work interventions to personnel
Advise management on trends influencing personnel performance
Implement projects promoting a well-balanced lifestyle for personnel in SAPS
Administer the development and rendering of advanced and complex Police Social Work Services work-focus assessments
Administer the development and rendering of comprehensive occupational social work services to the client system
Develop and implement multi-disciplinary approach interventions within the Employee Health and Wellness environment
