Fidelity Services Group is looking for dedicated and skilled Firefighters to join our team within the Eastern Cape Division. As a Firefighter, you will be essential in responding to and managing fire-related incidents, ensuring the safety and protection of life and property.


Job Description

Positions are available for Firefighters who will actively respond to fire incidents, engage in emergency rescue services, provide basic medical care, and participate in fire prevention and training activities. This role involves operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and apparatus while undertaking relevant duties to safeguard our clients.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fires, rescues, and related emergency humanitarian incidents.

  • Manage incidents involving hazardous substances and perform rescue operations.

  • Conduct basic medical treatment and resuscitation for injured persons.

  • Operate firefighting equipment and perform maintenance to ensure readiness.


  • Participate in emergency drills, training exercises, and physical fitness activities.

  • Conduct fire safety training for relevant employees and provide guidance on fire prevention strategies.

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and complete required documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act through inspections and safety protocols.

  • Assist with Fire and Safety training and life safety education.

  • Drive and operate heavy and specialized vehicles/appliances in emergency situations.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Education: Grade 12

  • Certifications:

    • IFSAC Accredited

    • NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 Certification

    • Firefighter II Certification

  • Experience: 2-3 years of relevant firefighting experience preferred.

  • Licenses: Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP; advanced driving experience is advantageous.

  • Skills:

    • Medically and physically fit.

    • Strong understanding of fire prevention practices and firefighting systems.

    • Clear criminal record.

    • Good administration, interpersonal communication, and customer liaison skills.


  • Certifications:

    • Hazmat experience and knowledge are essential.

    • EMT certification and First Aid levels 1 to 3 are required.


Core Competencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of Hazmat guidelines.

  • Understanding of the security industry and adherence to regulatory conduct.

  • Knowledge of firefighter instructor applications in operational roles.
