JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Control Room Operator with general duties.

• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and comply with company standards.

• Monitor the SCADA system for deviations continuously.

• Assist in answering and recording phone calls.

• Communicate with engineering and mining personnel using the radio system.

• Coordinate and communicate all underground and surface ore flow, breakdowns, accidents, and incidents.

• Ensure accurate operational reports and effective coordination of TRP key control procedures.

• Book equipment breakdowns/downtime on Delta and manage handover processes.

• Enforce all relevant procedures within the area of responsibility.

• Support all shaft control room operations within TRP.

• Assume acting responsibilities of senior control room operators as needed.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The successful candidate will need to be certified medically fit according to the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996. Applicants may undergo job-related assessments and other checks as deemed necessary by the Mine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Grade 12 (Mathematics & Science) or equivalent (MUST).

• Advantageous Qualifications: Trade test or engineering qualifications.

• Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications, SAP, Delta, and ON-KEY (PRAGMA).

• Literacy: Must be computer literate.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• Experience: 1-2 years in control room operations or a related background (MUST).

• SCADA Proficiency: Essential knowledge of SCADA systems.

• Knowledge: Emergency preparedness and strong reporting accuracy.

• Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in report writing.

• Attributes: Punctual, reliable, willing to learn and take initiative.
