Requirements
Internship Details:
The SALB is offering a 12-month internship in the Technical Services Section at its Makhanda branch. This internship is part of the government's initiative to address youth unemployment, particularly among persons with disabilities, women, and other designated groups.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
Grade 12 (Matric)
N6 or higher-level qualification in:
Engineering
Electronics
Electrical
Fitting & Turning
Boilermaking
Communication Skills:
Strong English proficiency (both verbal and written)
Ability to interact effectively with team members and external service providers
Technical and Administrative Skills:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Experience with technical repair and maintenance will be an advantage
Primary Responsibilities:
As an intern in the Technical Services Section, your primary tasks will include:
Player Repair & Maintenance: Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of specialized audio players used by visually impaired members.
Technical Support: Provide basic technical assistance within the Technical Services Section.
Administrative Functions: Handle documentation, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks related to technical services.
Inventory Management: Assist in tracking, managing, and maintaining technical equipment and spare parts.
Health & Safety Compliance: Gain exposure to workplace safety protocols and help ensure compliance with safety regulations.
General Support: Participate in other tasks to support the efficient operation of the Technical Services Section.

Remuneration:
The annual Cost-to-Company (CTC) salary for this internship is R85,887. No relocation or accommodation benefits are included.
