The SPAR Group LTD is seeking a skilled Baker to join their dynamic team in Saldanha, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for yeast-based baking to contribute to the production of high-quality bakery products.


Job Description:

The Baker will be responsible for manufacturing yeast-based bakery products according to quality standards and the Bakery Manager's production plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing cyclical production plans to ensure efficient production.

  • Controlling ingredients used in baking to maintain quality and consistency.



  • Managing stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.

  • Ensuring high standards of hygiene and housekeeping in the bakery environment.

  • Supervising staff to achieve production targets and maintain a positive work environment.

  • Interacting with customers to provide excellent service and resolve any issues.


Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification.

  • A recognized technical qualification in yeast-based baking.

  • At least 3 years of experience in baking, with a focus on yeast-based products.

  • Knowledge of product quality standards, production chains, cold chains, manufacturing processes, equipment handling, supervision, safety, and bakery trends.
