Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Cash & Transaction Processing:
Execute cash and related transactions by managing and balancing the cash float daily.
Dispense and receive cash, cheques, travellers’ cheques, drafts, and other financial instruments over the counter to walk-in customers.
Process and encash cheques after verifying identification, account details, and adherence to controls.
Monitor for fraudulent activities; report concerns to the team leader or branch manager.
Ensure transactions comply with policies, including handling of cheques and ID verification.
Customer Service:
Provide advice to customers regarding cash and transaction processes.
Resolve customer inquiries and complaints, escalating to the appropriate departments as necessary.
Maintain a professional and friendly customer interaction at all times.
Sales and Marketing:
Identify and act on sales leads and cross-selling opportunities.
Utilize sales tools to contribute to branch sales targets.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Open and close the branch safe according to prescribed bank procedures.
Conduct cash counts and visual checks as assigned.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions in accordance with bank procedures.
Report suspicious transactions in line with Money Laundering control frameworks.
Workspace Management:
Maintain a tidy and professional workstation.
Ensure sufficient stationery and resources are available prior to branch opening.
Education and Qualifications:
Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies (Required).
Experience in the financial services industry would be advantageous.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Intermediate Excel).
Excellent time management and strong administrative skills.
Ability to work independently.
