Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with SANS regulations across all company depots and installations, maintaining customer relationships, and assisting in the continuous improvement of the maintenance system.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with SANS regulations at all company facilities.
Maintain strong customer relationships and exceed expectations whenever possible.
Assist in the continuous improvement of the maintenance system.
Monitor and ensure compliance of newly refurbished equipment with relevant documentation.
Specific Activities:
Document site inspections and breakdowns, with supporting photos, and forward to the maintenance manager.
Submit a weekly schedule of planned repairs and inspections.
Conduct regular inspections of Totalgaz installations and report non-conformances for rectification.
Repair and refurbish LPG equipment (e.g., regulators, pumps, vaporizers, pressure relief valves).
Ensure high standards of safety and quality in all installations.
Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding maintenance spares and work.
Prepare bulk LPG tanks for removal and transportation.
Revalidate TGZ and consumer bulk tanks as per SANS regulations.
Ensure procurement and installation of the correct equipment for maintenance work.
Assist with technical training for staff and clients.
Action and close all callouts and inspections via TomTom GPS for record keeping.
Candidate Profile:
Basic Qualifications:
Registered or in the process of becoming a registered industrial maintenance technician with LPGASA.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the LPG or petroleum industry.
Strong knowledge of unit operations (e.g., cylinder manifolds, vaporizers, storage tanks, LPG pumps).
Additional Requirements:
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Deep understanding of the LPG industry and relevant legislation.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Customer service orientation and results-oriented approach.
Assertiveness and strong problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel as necessary.
Additional Information:
The technician will troubleshoot and maintain LPG installations, bulk tanks, and equipment at Totalgaz depots and consumer installations. The role also includes contractor management for large maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with SANS regulations.
