About Cricket South Africa (CSA):
Cricket South Africa is the national governing body responsible for all aspects of cricket within the country. We aim to promote and develop the sport at all levels.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain our server environment. The successful candidate will ensure system efficiency, resolve technical issues, uphold server security, and develop new system structures as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Responding to Logged IT Incidents:
Address IT incidents promptly within agreed timeframes.
Manage multiple open cases concurrently and prioritize effectively.
Resolve complex IT support requests escalated by the 1st Line Support team.
Provide assistance and guidance to staff concerning computer systems.
Privileged Account Management:
Create privileged user accounts per authorization.
Conduct periodic reviews of all privileged accounts.
Server Availability:
Ensure continuous availability and management of servers.
Implement warranty measures to maintain server uptime.
Network Support:
Develop and implement network maintenance procedures.
Diagnose and repair hardware and network issues.
Oversee service providers managing network infrastructure.
Server Administration and Support:
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.
Manage server operating systems.
Oversee Active Directory health and manage DHCP and DNS services.
Administer application servers and their databases.
Azure and Exchange Online Support:
Manage and maintain Azure and Exchange Online environments.
Provide regular communication and updates to users.
Conduct user satisfaction surveys.
IT Security Management:
Regularly update security firewalls and rules to protect against threats.
Review IT access accounts for compliance and security.
Patch Management:
Ensure the server and user environments are regularly patched.
Manage calls necessary for non-compliant users.
Backup and Continuity Reporting:
Oversee daily system backups and restoration processes.
Resolve backup-related incidents and conduct quarterly disaster recovery tests.
Manage IT Service Providers:
Monitor deliverables and performance from IT service providers.
Cloud Management:
Manage cloud-based server solutions and deployment services.
Project Support:
Coordinate and support IT projects, ensuring deadlines are met without impacting normal operations.
Assist in testing and deploying new hardware and software.
Essential Qualifications and
Experience:
National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF 6) or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (NQF 7) – a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, MCSE, Network+, Cisco) are advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Server Management and troubleshooting.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT Security Management.
Experience in a multi-site environment is advantageous.
Familiarity with ITIL disciplines is advantageous.
Project management experience is a plus.
Key Competencies:
Strong networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, routing).
Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure.
Patient, service-oriented approach to IT issues.
Strong teamwork and independent working capabilities.
Proficient in logging and tracking incidents accurately.
Flexibility to adapt to new technologies swiftly.
Work Conditions:
May require travel and working long hours on weekends/public holidays.
