About the Position

• Position: Shop Assistant/Cashier P27

• Department: Operations - Stores

• Locations: Kagiso, Soweto, Roodepoort, and more

• Application Response Time: Usually within a week

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service: Assist shoppers in finding products, answer queries, and resolve complaints to ensure a positive shopping experience.

2. Cashier Duties: Process cash and card payments, handle Lay Bys, refunds, and perform till balancing.

3. Merchandising & Housekeeping: Ensure products are correctly priced, displayed, and stocked; keep the store clean and organized; stay updated on promotions.

4. Risk & Security: Tag products according to company policy, participate in stock takes, and report suspicious activities.

5. Living Company Values: Uphold Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures in all tasks.

Skills & Experience

• Excellent customer service skills

• Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial

• Tenacious and target-driven

• High energy levels and motivation

• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory
