About the Position

• Position: Shop Assistant/Cashier P27

• Location: Northgate, Gauteng

• Department: Operations - Stores

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service: Assist shoppers in finding products, answer queries, and resolve complaints to ensure an exceptional shopping experience.

2. Cashier Duties: Process cash and card payments, handle Lay Bys, refunds, and perform till balancing accurately.

3. Merchandising & Housekeeping: Ensure products are correctly priced, displayed, and stocked; maintain store cleanliness; stay updated on current promotions.

4. Risk & Security: Tag products as per policy, participate in stock takes, and report suspicious or fraudulent activities.

5. Living Company Values: Demonstrate Ackermans’ values and adhere to policies and procedures consistently.

Skills & Experience

• Excellent customer service skills

• Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial

• Tenacious, target-driven, and motivated

• High energy levels and proactive attitude

• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory
